![]() ![]() ![]() If they need to be much different, I'd suspect the idle air bleeds are possibly plugged, maybe just on one side. I would trust the vacuum gauge more than the turn count. No problem having the idle screws out a different number of turns (provided it's not waay different). Is there any any concern not having them backed out the same number of turns? One last question: I get my best AFR, highest RPM and highest vacuum readings with the idle mixture screws adjusted with one side out 2 turns and the other side out 1-1/2 turns. So are these a 7.5 and 3.5 power valve? Do I need a 9.5 for my engine? What's the consequence for putting in a 7.5 PV versus a 9.5? I'm planning to pull the carb and try the largest PV of the 3 I have and test it. The engine is running great, but my mpg is averaging 13.3. I run the vacuum advance using manifold vacuum. I have 19" Hg vacuum at idle and initial timing is set to 12 degrees BTDC. I have a stock 289/with stock flat tappet cam/with AOD transmission and a 3.55 rear end. I'm fine tuning my 4100 now that I have an AFR gauge. ![]()
